This motion piece is based on poster designs from a previous class, Typography 2. The objective is to communicate a hypothetical event announcement. The goal was to visually reflect and emphasize the nature of the information from the posters in order to consequently capture the core of the subject matter.
Concept
Approach
Marian Anderson, Andrea Bocelli, and Fairuz all faced hardships in their life. This animation will highlight their ability to overcome these hardships and earn their legendary status as opera sololist today. This animation is a contemporary take on the classical genre.
The intended audience is younger adults that are interested in Opera.
This animation combines a parallax effect of image and type and a paper ripping effect.
Original Posters
Bocelli’s poster is ripped over his eyes because of his hardship of becoming blind.
Anderson’s poster is ripped over her head because of her struggle with racial prejudice.
Fairuz’s poster is ripped over her body because her music contributed to uniting her divided nation during the Lebanese Civil War.
